2017 Honda Civic Coupe

Little Honda is King of the Hill Again

Kelley Blue Book, a longtime trusted consumer publication and website devoted to providing the latest in car news and reviews, has named the 2017 Honda Civic as its overall Best Buy in the automotive marketplace. KBB evaluates what constitutes a “best value” not only from the initial price of the vehicle, but also how it drives, what emotions it invokes and all the fun stuff that a new car should have. Best Buy evaluations are conducted over an entire calendar year, with 6 weeks before the announcement devoted to in-depth reviews of the final qualifiers. From its design and performance to a fun-to-drive feel, the 2017 Honda Civic was the clear winner among a strong group of competitors. See what makes the Civic the top dog by taking a test drive at Chapman Honda.

Civic ‘Blows Away’ the Competition

“The 2017 Honda Civic won this year’s Small Car Best Buy Award because it simply blows away everything else in its class,” KBB editors wrote. “And for the second year in a row, it takes the Overall Best Buy trophy for the same reasons: The 2017 Civic so dominates its class, it was an obvious choice.” The Civic ticks off all the boxes that other compacts do: It’s affordable, gets great gas mileage and is dependable. After that is when the Civic really starts to pull away from the competition. A spacious interior is more like that of a much larger vehicle, allowing room for grown adults to actually stretch out in the back seat. Along with being fun-to-drive with superb acceleration and handling, the Civic is the beneficiary of some world-class attention to detail, creating tight fits and that unmistakable thud of a well-constructed car.

Three Models of Excellence

Whether you choose the 2-door coupe, 4-door sedan or new hatchback, the 2017 Honda Civic provides a sporty alternative to other small car options. It doesn’t matter whether you pair it with the 1.5L turbocharged motor or the base 2.0L naturally aspirated engine, the continuously variable automatic transmission delivers seamless transitions through the gears for a smooth, powerful ride with top-notch efficiency. Add on the available Honda Sensing Suite for a whole basketful of driver assistance features that recognize trouble before it happens. One example is active cruise control that keeps a safe distance between you and the vehicle immediately in front, slowing as needed and even applying the brakes as necessary to avoid a collision. Feel free to look at competitors, but then take a trip to Chapman Honda for a test drive in the Civic before making any commitments. Price, performance and added features all add up to the Civic being the best buy in the market.

SEMA 2016

Part of 10th Generation Civic Next Year

After its unveiling at the Paris Auto Show, the new Honda Civic Type R made its first U.S. appearance at the SEMA convention in Las Vegas the first week of November. This radical take on the popular small Honda is based on the Civic Hatchback, but has a wider, more muscular build. More modifications contribute to outstanding aerodynamics, which improve handling and fuel efficiency. A brushed finish resembles aluminum, which may or may not be the final exterior on the production model. A centrally-located air scoop and a fascia with attitude give this car an aggressive look, broken up only by the iconic red “H” Honda badge on the nose. Keep in touch with Chapman Honda for the latest news on the Honda Civic Type R.

Civicapalooza Display Provides Strong Showing

Civics, Civics and more Civics were on display at the SEMA show as Honda saturated the Las Vegas Convention Center with variations on its award winning compact. The 2017 Civic Hatchback is now the third different body style for the 10th generation, joining the Sedan and Coupe. The one on display at SEMA was equipped with a Honda Factory Performance package that included a spoiler, larger brakes and badging, along with underbody spoilers and special wheels. Honda also provided a Global Rallycross Civic, Civic Coupe racing concept and SEGA Civic Sedan based on the video game “Sonic the Hedgehog.” For those familiar with the game, the wheels and tires represented the rings that Sonic travels through. A unique paint scheme and custom interior features that included a 32-inch television added to the uniqueness of this Civic.

Civic Body-in-White is a unique concept that lets racing teams, both pro and amateur, build race cars without having to disassemble a production vehicle. Along with a touring car chassis, Honda Performance Development will also have a complete line of high-end performance parts available to let teams build a competitive car. The team will also provide direct engineering support to those who need help. An ultimate street cruiser from aLL STaR Performance and fun versatile coupe from MAD Industries were also on display at SEMA.
