Redesigned Ridgeline Perfect Truck for Urban Dwellers

With its light hauling capability and roomy interior, the 2017 Honda Ridgeline is the perfect truck for people who need to move stuff in a crowded environment. That’s part of the reason the Ridgeline was voted North American Truck of the Year, the second time it has won that honor. “This award is a prized validation of the innovations and advantages the Ridgeline offers midsize pickup truck customers and a great recognition of the American development team’s work,” according to Honda VP John Mendel. “This is a terrific way to kick off 2017 and we’re looking forward to sharing more innovative Honda products in the year ahead.” The Honda Ridgeline is ready and waiting for your test drive at Chapman Honda.

Ridgeline Features Industry-exclusive Features

The all-new Ridgeline is not only nimble, athletic and capable of hauling a significant load; it is also packed with features no other truck offers. Unibody construction, an in-bed locking trunk, scratch-resistant bed, dual-action tailgate and truck bed stereo system are all unique to the Ridgeline. It’s also the only truck on the road to have earned a Top Safety Pick + rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, when it has the optional front crash prevention system and LED headlights installed. The Ridgeline follows the lead of the 2016 Civic, which won North American Car of the Year last season.

Resurrection of Ridgeline Produces Versatile Truck

After a few years off the market, Honda brought the Ridgeline back to try and seize a sizable share of the midsize truck market. The ploy seems to be working, as consumers have welcomed the latest incarnation with open arms. “We’ve advanced the best and most beloved elements of the original Ridgeline and combined them with an outstanding new platform and the most advanced technology to create new value in the midsize pickup segment,” according to Honda senior VP Jeff Conrad. “The result is an amazingly versatile Honda truck with uncompromised capability.” The rugged, yet sophisticated, midsize pickup is perfect for a daily driver, recreational activities and hauling cargo. It has a 1,584 pound payload capacity along with the ability to tow 5,000 pounds.

New Truck Gets New Engine

The 2017 Honda Ridgeline is powered by the all-new 3.5L direct injection V6 that produces 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. That’s 30 horsepower more than the original Ridgeline, which helps account for the increased hauling and towing capability. Head to Chapman Honda and you can choose between two- or all-wheel drive to help maintain control when road conditions get tough. An Intelligent Traction Management system lets you choose between different types of driving elements to provide the most control for your situation.

Civic Si Coupe, Sedan Unveiled

One of the reasons the Honda Civic has been so popular for more than four decades is the variety of options offered to customers. Along with the traditional models, Honda recently unveiled an Si Coupe and Sedan at the Los Angeles Auto Show. This new model, available later this year, is powered by a peppy high-torque 1.5L turbocharged engine with dual variable cam timing. “With the new Honda Civic Si, we’re injecting even more sporty goodness into our 10th-generation Civic lineup,” Conrad said. “This will be, hands down, the fastest, best handling Si we’ve ever offered to our customers.”
